DATE: Saturday August 6, Sign-up is required so we know how many divers: need names, cell number & email. We limit the amount of divers for this fun dive. Sign-up if you are planning to participate. 2022 Dive Events form must be completed before diving on all PWS events. TIME:8:00AM Orientation, This time of year parking can be very busy, come early, if full you can go to the next parking lot for a parking space. If you miss the orientation you will need to wait until the next dive before an orientation is given to dive as a part of this fun dive. PLACE:Les Davis Park - 3472 Ruston Way - Tacoma, WA, DEPTH & CURRENT: Best depth range 30 ft to 60 ft but you can stay shallower at this site or dive deeper. This site does not normally have much current. RESERVATIONS & EVENT COORDINATOR: Sign-up for Fun Dive, contact Pacific Watersports (503) 642-3483. If you need assistance with directions/information while up there call Jeri Moreira 503-989-9997. DIVE INFORMATION & SITE PROFILE: This area is possible to do a 2-tank dive, we have seen octopus, lots of lingcod, painted greenlings and more, we will have a underwater map to give to you via email or on Saturday. Participating in this dive means that you are in agreement to use Safe Diving Practice Standards.
MEET AT: Follow the side walk away from the fishing pier, we will meet at the picnic tables close by the entry area. NEED TO BRING: Have 2-full tanks dive gear, dive knife, (entanglement is always a possibility) main dive light & dive computer, highly recommended, tarp for your gear and if you have a hand truck type cart this works great for bringing your gear close to the entry area.. DIRECTIONS: I-5 exit #133 (N705 Tacoma Dome) and follow it (N705 onto Schuster Parkway. Stay in the left lane and this will put you on to Ruston Way. Once you drop down onto the water front area go about 1/2 mile and look for the Red/Black fire boat on the right. Park at the far end of the lot and walk to the picnic table by the water entry area. Sound DIVE BUDDIES: It will not be necessary to come with a dive buddy. Extra divers will be there that are looking for dive buddies as well. All level of certified diver are welcome to participate in this dive, must be already oriented to cold water diving, recent diving within 1 year and comfortable diving in Northwest conditions. There will not be a dive master leading you on a dive underwater, it will be just you and your dive buddy. You will be responsible to make sure you adhere to all Standard Safe Diving Practices for your participation on this dive is your acceptance to these guidelines. We offer a Discover Local Diving on our fun dives for those that wish to get oriented to Northwest Diving or need to get oriented to diving here again, call for full details, advance arrangements must be made for this program. This program is full. WHY FUN DIVES: Just a group of divers getting together wanting to meet other divers, possibly learn of new dive sites and have fun.
