Rick Guenther

Ever since I took that first breath under water I fell in love with the sport of diving.  In my first class, I can remember sitting on the bottom of the pool in four feet of water thinking to myself...this is so cool I can't wait to get to the deep end!  When I did get to the deep end I thought  Jacques Cousteau has nothing on me !  I went from looking at hair balls in the bottom of the pool to diving with sharks, turtles, sting ray's  and all other sorts of cool critters   and  along the way, I

became a Scuba Instructor.  Now I get to watch students take that first breath underwater and see how excited they get about that first scuba experience. It is very rewarding to get to help others get so much enjoyment from a sport that I never tire of.

It is always a great experience to go diving and I enjoy it regardless of the location.  Actually, I'll dive pretty much anywhere, as long as I can go underwater and blow bubbles.  I enjoy diving in the Northwest, whether it's the Hood Canal area, Puget Sound, or local lakes.  I've also dived in Alaska, Cozumel, Cancun, Belize, Cabo San Lucas, and the Florida Keys (where I am still trying to find my hero, Jimmy Buffet).

When I'm not in the water I enjoy traveling, hiking, skiing, wind surfing, painting, and photography. I'm still trying to finish the great American novel (it's a work in progress) and I'm continuing my quest to make the perfect margarita!

I have been a professional football player, high school teacher and coach, resort manager, as well as being involved in real estate.

My wife Catherine and I have four wonderful children, and one very spoiled rotten dog.
